I'm pretty sure if I had it now I would waste a bunch of time on it. I'm also guilty of texting instead of calling, because it is easier. And, I've never really been a big phone talker anyway. Thanks for the comment. They're welcome anytime. Hope to see you in the real world soon! : )Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06959969785078141656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6894717753129467312.post-48259233090568647912011-07-25T12:45:04.836-07:002011-07-25T12:45:04.836-07:00Michel I liked this post...obviously a little late...Michel I liked this post...obviously a little late a reading it but anyway...

My parents are constantly commenting about how I never call anyone but text them instead. I blow this comment off by telling them it's way easier and doesn't interrupt the other person's day. But every once in a while I think they might be right...

As for facebook, I, unlike you, waste way too much time with it. I try to use it as a tool like JJ says but find myself, especially now with summer off, spending time just clicking around since I have nothing better to do (which is a complete lie)!

When I read this post it reminded of this commercial I saw, so since you don't have tv you'll have to check out the youtube version of it...i find it humorous.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUGmcb3mhLM

ps - let's have some face time soon...k thanks!Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11317272952891413822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6894717753129467312.post-10574142224357983582011-06-29T20:37:06.098-07:002011-06-29T20:37:06.098-07:00Good hearing from you, Alex! Keeping in touch with people was the main qualm I had with deleting my FB, and was what made me waver back and forth in the few months leading up to getting rid of it. But, then I stumbled upon the idea, isn't this how life is supposed to be? People lose touch, reconnect, lose touch again. It's the nature of human interaction, whether there's an FB or not.

I try to limit mine while out too, and at Wicks, unless I need to look up The Last Dragon after we get it wrong... or do last minute Pippi research.Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06959969785078141656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6894717753129467312.post-69664777000469449432011-06-29T20:27:58.402-07:002011-06-29T20:27:58.402-07:00It's all a balancing act. I attempt to not use it for more than that.
I totes agree with smart phones at Wicks. I try to only use mine for checking the time because watches are so 1997.Alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06056773998966096132noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6894717753129467312.post-22820194139931216372011-06-28T13:56:41.860-07:002011-06-28T13:56:41.860-07:00Jess, that birthday bit is brilliant. When I was and would receive the flood of good wishes on my b-day, I could probably only identify roughly 10-20 of them as actually sincere.

JJ, I look forward to a blog post with your opinion if you end up writing one. I would like to get your take, as someone who's tech savvy.Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06959969785078141656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6894717753129467312.post-47077172000557164932011-06-27T04:47:59.487-07:002011-06-27T04:47:59.487-07:00Oh, man. I kind of want one, but I prefer to have instant access to my brain instead of the matrix. As for facebook, it's a tool, but I have my own philosophy about social networking and internet communication that I hope to lay out in a blog post at some point. Cheers.J.
